Since 2003, documentary photographer Camille Seaman has made many visits to the Arctic regions of Svalbard, Greenland and Antarctica for her series, “Melting Away.” Seaman’s images portray the icebergs as heroic sculptures in vast, open environments. In a statement about the work, Seaman says, “I approach the images of icebergs as portraits of individuals, much like family photos of my ancestors.”
Images from “Melting Away” are currently on view at The Half King in New York City through February 3, 2015. Melting Away is also available as a book.
