Le Grand Magasin

To help celebrate the 25th anniversary of ANDAM (National Association for the Development of the Fashion Arts), Galerie des Galeries invited photographer Philippe Jarrigeon to create portraits of previous ANDAM award winners. Inspired by the exhibition’s title “Grand Magasin” (“Department Store”), Jarrigeon’s colorful and graphic portraits are as imaginative as the fashion designers themselves. “Accustomed to working in very different contexts,” Galerie des Galeries said in a press release, “from brand orders to exhibitions, and the artistic direction of his magazine Dorade, revue galante, photographie et formes critique, Philippe Jarrigeon surrounds himself with fashion designers, visual artists, graphic designers, or architects in order to bring his projects to life.”

“Grand Magasin” is currently on view through November 15, 2014, at Galerie des Galeries in Paris. Jarrigeon’s work has been published in Double, Frog, M Le Monde, the New York Times Magazine, and Vogue. He is also a photography teacher at the Cantonal Art School of Lausanne in Switzerland.
