Lovely Linda

Linda McCartney (then Eastman), born in New York City in 1941, was always interested in art and music. She was the house photographer at the Fillmore East where she had  the opportunity to photography music legends like The Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, The Doors, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. A new exhibition of McCartney’s work, “Linda McCartney: Retrospective 1965-1997” opens at Le Pavillon Populaire in Montpelier, France, February 20, 2014. A 280-page book, Linda McCartney. Life in Photographs (Taschen, 2011), is also available. “Linda met Paul McCartney at the Bag O’ Nails Club and then again four days later at the launch of [the Beatle’s] ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ at Brian Epstein’s house in Belgravia,” the gallery said in a statement. “A year later they married at Marylebone Registry Office in London, March 12th, 1969.” McCartney wrote several songs of her own, as well as writing a few vegetarian cookbooks supporting their vegetarian lifestyle and beliefs.
