Souto’s “The End of the Trail” series is on exhibition this fall at Smack Mellon Gallery, 92 Plymouth Street at Washington Street, Brooklyn, New York. The show runs from September 26 to November 8. An opening reception is Saturday, September 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Inspired by the life of his grandmother, “The End of the Trail” documents the fading culture of the present-day cowboy in countries with deep ranching traditions. The photographs on show are part of a continuing series that were shot in Australia, Uruguay and the United States.
