Furunishi’s work is the inaugural exhibition in “New Pictures,” a semi-annual series of work by emerging photographers at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Born in Japan and living in Los Angeles, Furunishi uses a 4 x 5 camera to shoot images of a particular geographical site from multiple perspectives, which she digitally stitches together into what appears to be a continuous landscape.

The show runs from September 17 to January 30, 2010, at MIA, 2400 Third Avenue South in Minneapolis. More information here.
