Definitions of “Together”

“You and Me. You and Him. You and Her. Them. Us. You. ‘Together.’ This simple adverb is singular, in the sense that the notion of the plural is consubstantial to it.” That is how organizers of the 4th annual International Image Festival explained this year’s theme of “Together.” Photographers were invited to submit images that evoke their definition of the theme. More than 50 French, Jordanian and other international photographers will present their images during this year’s festival, which begins March 1, 2014 in Jordan. In addition to the exhibitions, the festival includes workshops, meetings and presentations of awards for the “Jordan Lens Award,” open only to Jordanians living in Jordan or abroad, and “The International Lens Award,” open to all professional photographers. The “International Image Festival,” the only major photography event in the region, “aims to gather more professionals together, attract a wider audience, expand internationally and create opportunities for sustainable cultural exchanges.”
