With great patience and care, Gary Briechle photographs using large-format cameras and the wet-plate collodion process, which forces an intimacy between the photographer and subject. The book’s gorgeous prints float in the middle of black pages bringing back that feeling of surprise one gets while watching photographs come to life in a developing tray.
