Undoubtely, the horizontal position suggests a relaxed subject, and projects serenity, but a tilted or diagonal figure suggests also other thing: a more natural uneasiness, and that is to say, a more plain humanity. The portrayed girl wouldn’t look -I think- so attractive, so interesting, if she were in a simple horizontal position. Plus, the colors in contrast: flesh and ¿dark blue-green, greenish-blue, bluish-green?, and some forced gestures (the face has not the relaxed attitude of sleep, the hand under the body suggests tenseness) add strength and tension to the whole image. I wish I were twenty years younger and have the girl’s phone number.
