“In the spring, across the Yucatan, many of the small Mayan villages host a weeklong festival that is culminated in a Corrida, or bullfight.  The men spend the week constructing the bullring, and Friday afternoon amid much fanfare, the Corrida begins. Each of the roughly fifty “private boxes” are hosted by a family; I gained access and was able to stick my lens through the gaps in the surprisingly strong fence and shoot at eye level to the bull… that was later butchered on site and sold to the spectators.” – Brian Bloom
