Animals take center stage in”In Focus: Animalia,” an exhibition at the Getty Center in Los Angeles through October 18, 2015. “Photographs of animals have circulated since the early history of the medium, initially focusing on those that were tame, captive, or dead,” the museum writes in a statement about the exhibition, which presents images drawn entirely from the museum’s collection. Notable photographers include Horatio Ross, Alfred Stieglitz, William Wegman, Pieter Hugo, Taryn Simon, and more.
