PDN Photo of the Day

Fashion, Re-Invented

By combining fashion and portraiture and mixing hard and soft, and futuristic and iconic esthetics, Tim Richardson has created a dynamic portfolio. Richardson regularly shoots for Interview, V Magazine, Dazed & Confused, and Vogue, and, more recently, has directed films for Mugler, Givenchy and Diesel. “Richardson’s photographs and film stills move far beyond the camera, exploring the figure through motion capture, scanning and 3D imaging,” Richardson’s publisher Prestel said in a statement about his newest book, Tim Richardson: Spiritual Machine. “The results are mesmerizing, otherwordly, dreamlike images that radiate with color and movement.”

More than 68 of Richardson’s images are included in the monograph, but you can see the work in person this month at Milk Gallery. “Tim Richardson Spiritual Machine” opens this Friday and runs through May 31, 2015.
