Updating Classic Peterbilt Calendars

Los Angeles-based photographer Roger Snider works for a wide variety of clients in the commercial, fashion and editorial worlds. Snider’s worked for TIME, National Geographic and campaigns for Toyota and Geico. Snider is also known for his work shooting fancy big rigs with elegant models in custom dresses, in locations all over the world.

Chrome and Elegance,” Snider’s idea to reinvent classic Peterbilt calendars from the 1970s and 1980s, began with the 2013 calendar. Images for the new 2015 calendar include Peterbilt trucks from the 1960s up to a 2015 model. took place in Branson, MO, which, Snider says, is a “family-friendly country music show town.” Branson was chosen for it’s great scenery, and proximity to the American Truck Historical Society National Show which meant that Snider could pick up the trucks for the shoots easily.

In total, the calendar includes 14 different trucks, 7 different models, and 8 exterior locations. The studio work, Snider told PDN, was shot in a 60×60 sq ft airplane hangar at the executive airport in Branson. “It took half a year to plan, several scouting trips and 9 days to shoot,” Snider told PDN via email. “I hired a fashion team from NYC who brought 120 dresses to pick from, a hair and make person from LA and a 2 man pro lighting team with a digital tech.”
