“Horst: Photographer of Style” runs through January 4, 2015 at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. This massive exhibition of the work of famed the fashion photographer includes images from all aspects of his career, including his work for Vogue and as a member of the Surrealist movement in the 1930s; his iconic Hollywood glam images from the ’40s; travel and nature images from throughout his career; and behind-the-scenes images showing Horst’s work as both a photographer and a director.
“Horst P. Horst created images that transcend fashion and time,” the museum said in a statement. “He was a master of light, composition and atmospheric illusion, who conjured a world of sensual sophistication. In an extraordinary sixty-year career, his photographs graced the pages of Vogue and House and Garden under the one-word photographic byline ‘Horst.'”
