Cricket Players of New York

Cricket, a game that can last up to five days, is alive and well in New York City. Weekly league games are played in Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, and at both Marine Park and Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn. Players hail from all over the world, including Sri Lanka, Trinidad and parts of the Caribbean. In September 2013, commercial and editorial photographer Joshua Dalsimer visited a few of these league games, initially going to scout and see what it was all about. Dalsimer never played a game, but has learned a lot about the sport through watching and speaking with the players he photographed for this personal project.
