Boston-based documentary photographer Paris Visone began working with American nü metal band Limp Bizkit in 2012. In the beginning of the year, she spent a month with the band both in the U.S. and Europe. Visone was a huge fan of the band in the late 1990s. “They were my favorite,” Visone tells PDN via e-mail. And “they are definitely one of my favorite bands to photograph because they are such individuals. I love the dynamic of the band, from [guitarist] Wes Borland’s awesome stage wear to [lead singer] Fred Durst’s undeniable persona. In the end they are just really nice guys and awesome to work with. They get what I’m doing, and they give me access that every photographer/fan only dreams of.” In mid-August Visone also spent a week documenting the the band in China and South Korea. The band was invited to participate in Hyundai’s “CityBreak” two-day concert at the Jamsil Sports Complex, built for the 1986 Olympics in Seoul, Korea. Even if Limp Bizkit isn’t in your Spotify playlist, it’s impressive to consider that the band has sold over 40 million records worldwide.
Outstanding images and am curious as to whom paid your way on these tours.
Hi Jim. Thank you!
As for money, it is different every tour.
I love your work Paris, great stuff. Big Limp Bizkit fan. (If only I could tag along and take some of my own!) Would love to see more! :)
awesome! you should film a documentary!
Great Photos! Thanx. Shocking, that so many love’em in S-Korea and China. I thought, those were stuck up people. Changed my views of’em. They’re just the bast band ever, even better than Metallica. Should be making music for another 40 years, and their kids should just pick up, from where they’d leave off. I wish, my kids had the chance to listen to this kinda music. So LB, do not stop!!!
haha! so nice shot! great!
