Supported by funding from the Norwegian Freedom of Expression Foundation, Andrea Gjestvang set out to document the affects of climate change on the Inuit people of Greenland. Traditional living conditions are slowly disappearing along with the ice melting. From being a culture totally dependent on nature, many people now find themselves in a state of flux, in search for a new identity and alternate ways of living. Gjestvang’s series, “Disappearing Ice Age” is one of many projects recognized in this year’s PDN‘s 30. The 2012 PDN‘s 30 gallery is online now.
