David Nadel has photographed the remains of burned-down forests in Northwest Montana for much of the past four winters. A resident of the state, he hikes up mountains and treks through trail-less terrain while lugging a large-format camera. He shoots color, though many of his images look like black-and-white etchings. His exhibition, “Burn,” is on view at Sasha Wolf Gallery in New York through March 26.
The gallery’s description of Nadel’s images notes, “Where a dense, green, classically beautiful forest landscape existed all that is left, post wildfires, are the stark and devastated monument-like remains.”
I’ve been stoked to see this new work featured here (and that of Svetlana T recently too) but I think it’s ridiculous that you wouldn’t provide a direct link to the photographers’ websites. I mean, I can google with the best of them but come on…just seems like an easy thing to do and of benefit to all involved.
Please consider adding the URLs.

Devastating to think as profound as this destruction is… it’s only a fraction of what we do as a species through deforestation. Great shots though Mr. Nadel.
