Riedel won the 2009 ASMP Arnold Newman Prize, which recognizes the work of a contemporary environmental portrait photographer, and is part of the PDN Photo Annual competition. Riedel receives a $2,500 cash prize and a Canon digital camera. Barbara Bordnick, Eugene Mopsik and select PDN staff members were the judges for this award.
