Marco Breuer: Part __ Of __ Parts

Photos by Marco Breuer from the series “Part __ of __ Parts.” The project is running as the inaugural exhibition at Von Lintel Gallery’s new location at 520 W. 23rd Street in New York. Opening reception: Thursday, May 7, 6 – 8 pm.  From the gallery’s description of the show:

“Part __ of __ Parts is comprised of five distinct bodies of work, ranging from motion studies to recordings of early light sources. Breuer raises questions about time, materiality, and visual perception—themes that have been central to his long-time investigations in photography. The series play off each other and loop back conceptually and visually.

“For this exhibition, Breuer subjected photographic paper to a 12-gauge shotgun, one-time flashbulbs, and a modified turntable, among other tools. The resulting images are as raw as they are exquisite.”
