Photographed by Don Hamerman. The image is part of the series Found Baseballs, Hamerman’s ongoing project on old baseballs, mostly collected in a park near his Connecticut house where there’s been a baseball field in constant use for decades. One of Hamerman’s baseball photos appears on the cover of a new book from Knopf by former Mets pitcher Ron Darling, and a print of his was recently acquired for the permanent collection by The Museum of Fine Arts Houston.
This image was part of a 20×200 online art sale, which offers a series of 200 small prints for $20 each, and larger sizes for more. Prints of two more of Hamerman’s photographs go on sale April 8 at 2 p.m. on the 20×200 site.
