Recycled Lives

Recycled Lives

Photo by Michael Mullady, a student at San Francisco State University. In Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico, Miguel Ortiz washes himself after a long day of work digging through trash. This picture is from a project on small communities in Latin America that live and work on landfills.

Mullady won at $1,500 cash prize as the student winner of the Marty Forscher Fellowship Fund, sponsored by Parsons The New School for Design and PDN. The award is judged by Marty Forscher, Michelle Bogre and Peter B. Kaplan.

Editors’ note: All this week on the PDN Photo of the Day blog, we’re highlighting winners of the PDN Photo Annual. To see more, please view our online winners gallery.

  1. I think this site is great. for someone like me who’s an adult but couldn’t read a note, let alone play the guitar, in just a couple weeks, i’ve learned to read music and play a number of chords and notes

  2. Finally, I found the information I was looking for. I have been doing research on this subject, and for three days I keep finding sites that are supposed to have what I’m looking for, only to be discouraged with the lack of what I needed. I wish I would have located your website quicker! I had about 25% of what I was looking for and your site has that, and the rest of what I needed to complete my research. Thank you and keep up the good work!
